    Instructions to make Apple pie 🥧:

    1. Cut the butter into 1/2" pieces
    2. Mix the flour, sugar and salt
    3. Add butter, half at a time to the mixture, pulsing several times after each addition in the food processor
    4. Sprinkle the mixture with ice water. Add more ice water, one tablespoon at a time. Knead enough so that the dough holds together without cracks.
    5. Divide the dough into two even-sized disks. Sprinkle each disk with a little flour and wrap each one in plastic wrap and refrigerate for one hour or up to two days.
    6. Peel and cut apple into 1/4" pieces.
    7. Melt butter and add apples, cook them on medium heat for 1 minute. Add brown sugar and granulated sugar. Sprinkle nutmeg and cinnamon powder and mix. Cook until the apples have stewed and the liquid has thickened.
    8. Remove the pie crust from the refrigerator and let it sit for 20 minutes in order to soften to make rolling out a bit easier. Roll it into 12"circle and 1/8" thick.
    9. Place the crust in a pie dish and pour the cooked mixture in the centre.
    10. Cut the dough into even strips, /1/2" wide with a blunt knife or a pizza wheel. Place them in top of each other making lattice shape.
    11. Brush it with egg wash.
    12. Bake it in the oven at 400° F for 35 minutes. Sprinkle sanding sugar and cinnamon powder on top.
