    1. Prepare 250 grams Roasted Suji

    We can say it is one of the staple foods of South India. Rava Kichadi or Khichadi is one of the most famous Breakfast recipe in South India. It can be easily made at home with Rava (Sooji), Vegetables and Spices. It is really a mouth-watering dish that can be served for any meal of the day.


    Instructions

    Steps to make Rava/Suji khichdi:

    1. Keep all the ingredients ready.
    2. Dry roast rava/suji for 5 minutes on a medium-low flame and set aside
    3. Take a kadhai add 3 spoons oil and add all the ingredients mentioned under the section for seasoning. Then add cashews and fry till golden.
    4. Add chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies and saute for 20 seconds. Then add onions and curry leaves and saute till onions turn transculent.
    5. Add tomatoes and turmeric powder saute for 1 minute.
    6. Add the chopped vegetables along with rock salt and saute for another 1 minute.
    7. Add 1 litre hot water and cook for 5 minutes and let the vegetables get cooked.
    8. Keep the stove on low flame add rava/suji and continuously stir the kadai while adding raja/suji otherwise it will form lumps and spoil the khichdi.
    9. Keep the stove on low flame for 10 to 15 minutes till rava is cooked. Add a spoon of ghee after 15 minutes mix and serve hot with coconut chutney/peanut chutney.
