    17. Make ready 1/2 tsp pure cherry extract
    18. Get 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar

    20. Make ready 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

    22. Prepare fresh bing cherries
    23. Make ready 2 tbsp dark chocolate shavings

    8. ASSEMBLE CAKE
    9. Put one layer of cake bottom up on serving plate
    10. Cover with a layer of cold cherry curd
    11. Place second cake layer, bottom side up
    12. Cover with more cherry curd
    13. Add third cake layer top side up
    14. Frost entire cake with Cherry Whipped Cream
    15. Garnish with fresh cherries, chocolate shavings and sprinkles. Chill cake at leat 1 to 2 hours before cutting to allow it to firm up

    Combine sugar, salt, and ½ cup water in a small saucepan; scrape in seeds from vanilla bean and discard pod.
